The Jerkbite SR (Shallow Runner) is Westin's purpose-built jerkbait / twitchbait, designed to hang perfectly in the strike zone during every pause and dart away with panic-baitfish precision on every twitch. The Yoru colourway adds a dark, contrast-rich finish that excels in low-light and stained-water situations.
Most bites on a jerkbait come during the pause — and the Jerkbite earns its name by holding its depth almost motionlessly when you stop the retrieve. The perfectly balanced suspending action keeps the lure locked in the feeding zone between 0.5 and 1 m, giving even the most hesitant predators all the time they need to commit. Work it with sharp, aggressive rod strokes and vary the pause length to match the fish's mood; in cold water, longer pauses are often the trigger.
Two steel balls shift into the tail during the cast for maximum weight distribution, then roll forward into the belly on the retrieve to restore the bait's natural balance. This gives the Jerkbite exceptional casting distance and accuracy, and the weight transfer contributes directly to the erratic, arrow-like darting action that imitates a panicking baitfish. Even on a slow, steady retrieve the slim ABS body produces an enticing roll that can trigger reaction strikes.
