Westin Bornholmerkøl: long casts in rough coastal weather

The Westin Bornholmerkøl is a compact sea trout spoon for North Sea and Baltic Sea fishing. Its long-casting design helps you reach fish, including in strong wind and waves, while the body rocks from side to side on the retrieve. The supplier also lists salmon, garfish fishing and trolling among its uses.

Body and hook mounting

The lead-free zinc body measures 6.9 cm and weighs 16 g. A VMC 9649 BN hook in size 3 is mounted behind two split rings. This double-ring connection reduces the lure body's leverage on the hook, a useful feature when playing a fish.

Choose by colour

All eleven variants have the same length, weight, material and hook specification. Only the colour differs: Brown Headlight, Olive Grove, Olive Diamond, Pickled Sardine, Hottie Pearl, Green Headlight, Silver Grass, Pearl Ghost, Blue Diamond, Bloody Winter and Jing Jang. Choosing another colour keeps the same compact profile and weight. No colour-specific fishing conditions are specified.

What is included

Each variant is supplied as one spoon with the specified hook and double split-ring connection, not a colour assortment.

Frequently asked

What fishing situations is the Bornholmerkøl intended for?

It is intended primarily for sea trout fishing in the North Sea and Baltic Sea. Its compact, long-casting design is suitable for strong wind and waves, making it an option for rough coastal weather. Salmon, garfish fishing and trolling are also listed uses.

Do the colour variants differ in size or equipment?

No, all eleven colours measure 6.9 cm, weigh 16 g and have the same zinc body and size 3 VMC 9649 BN hook. You can change colour without changing these specifications. The supplier does not specify different uses for individual colours.

How is the hook mounted, and why are there two split rings?

The size 3 VMC 9649 BN hook is connected to the spoon through two split rings. This arrangement reduces leverage from the lure body on the hook when playing a fish. The same connection is supplied with every colour variant.

What is the spoon made from, and how many are supplied?

The body is lead-free zinc. Each variant contains one spoon with its specified hook and split-ring connection, so select each desired colour separately rather than expecting an assortment.
