It is a long-casting spoon for sea trout and salmon in the North Sea and Baltic, with a side-to-side rocking action on the retrieve. It is suitable for strong wind and waves, so rough coastal conditions do not rule out its use. Trolling is also a listed application.
Only the colour differs in the supplied specifications. Every version is 7.9 cm long and weighs 22 g, with the same zinc body and size 3 hook. You can choose a different finish without changing these specifications, but no colour-specific conditions are stated.
A VMC 9649 BN hook in size 3 is fitted, with two split rings between the hook and lure. The rings reduce the lure body's leverage on the hook during a fight, making the attachment arrangement relevant when comparing otherwise similar spoons.
Yes. The body is made from zinc and is explicitly described as lead-free. This gives you a lead-free metal spoon option while retaining the stated 22 g lure weight.

The Westin Bornholmerkøl is a compact, lead-free zinc spoon for sea trout and salmon in the North Sea and Baltic. Designed for long casts, it rocks from side to side on the retrieve and remains suitable for fishing in strong wind and waves. This makes it an option for coastal sessions in rough weather, not only calm conditions.
Its compact body produces a rocking action as you retrieve it. Casting and retrieving is its main use, with trolling also listed among its applications. The name comes from the Danish Baltic island of Bornholm, known for sea-trout fishing. The Danish word køl means keel, reflecting its traditional sea-trout lure identity.
Each version has a VMC 9649 BN hook in size 3. Two split rings between the lure and hook reduce the leverage the lure body can exert on the hook during a fight. The body is made from zinc and contains no lead.
All eight versions are 7.9 cm long and weigh 22 g, with the same hook and construction. Choose from Olive Grove, Hottie Pearl, Olive Diamond, Pickled Sardine, Sunrise, Blue Diamond, Brown Headlight and Pearl Ghost. Colour is the only documented difference, so changing the finish does not change the stated length, weight or hardware. No colour-specific fishing conditions are supplied.
