The 7x7 braided construction offers superior flexibility and movement with lures while maintaining excellent strength. Solid wire is stiffer and can kink. The 49-strand weave also reduces memory, allowing natural lure action even after repeated casting and retrieves.
For small to medium pike (under 10 kg), the 40 or 65 lbs versions work well with light to medium lures. For larger pike (10–20 kg), choose 175 lbs. Use 275 lbs only for very large pike or when fishing heavy baits with large lures in rough water.
Stainless steel resists corrosion from salt, brackish water, and harsh chemicals often found in tropical locations. Regular carbon steel leaders would rust quickly in these environments.
