It is a strong stainless steel single hook for big-game sea fishing. The supplier names swordfish, marlin, sea bream and jacks, while the Southern Tuna designation also indicates tuna use. This makes it an option for large marine predators rather than a small general-purpose hook.
The options increase from 7/0 through 8/0 and 9/0 to 10/0. Each has the same stainless steel construction, inward-curved Dynacut point and large barb, with ten hooks per pack. Choose by the hook size your setup requires, as the supplier does not assign particular species or strength ratings to individual sizes.
No, it has a large barb. The sharp Dynacut point helps penetrate hard mouths, while its inward curve and the barb help retain the fish during the fight. Choose another pattern if you specifically need a barbless hook.

The VMC 8700S Dynacut Southern Tuna Hook is a strong single hook for large marine predators. Its sharp Dynacut point helps penetrate hard mouths, while the inward-curved point and large barb help the hook stay in place during the fight.
The stainless steel construction provides the strength and durability needed for demanding sea fishing. Intended targets include tuna, swordfish, marlin, sea bream and jacks. All versions have a large barb, so this is not a barbless pattern.
Choose from 7/0, 8/0, 9/0 and 10/0. Size 7/0 is the smallest option in this family, followed by 8/0 and 9/0, with 10/0 the largest. All four sizes share the stainless steel construction, inward-curved Dynacut point and large barb. Select the size required by your setup, as no size-specific target species or strength ratings are supplied. Each pack contains ten hooks of the selected size.
