The Spiderwire Stealth Smooth 8 is available in five breaking strains (16.5–46.3 kg) to match different species and conditions. Use lighter variants (0.15–0.19 mm) for finesse techniques and smaller saltwater species, and heavier variants (0.33–0.39 mm) for deep structure, large halibut, and trophy saltwater fish. The breaking strain directly correlates with line diameter, so thinner lines cast farther but hold less power.
The five alternating colors in 10-meter sections serve as a visual depth gauge. When vertical jigging or deep-water fishing, you can instantly see how much line is deployed and adjust your depth precisely. The Stealth Smooth 8's 8-strand tight weave and smooth coating enable exceptional casting distance compared to monofilament or fluorocarbon alternatives. The lighter variants (0.15–0.19 mm) achieve the longest distances, while even the heaviest variants (0.39 mm) outperform traditional monofilament of similar breaking strength. Distance varies with reel, rod, lure weight, and technique, but expect noticeably improved range compared to mono.
