The 1.5 m 502 models are explicitly intended for small boats and kayaks. Choose between the 8–12 lb Light and 12–20 lb Medium versions according to the required line class.
All models split into two sections. Allow 79 cm for the 1.5 m versions, 95 cm for the 1.8 m versions or 110 cm for the 2.1 m versions. The 702 - 30-50LB is listed at 1.8 m with a 95 cm transport length.
No. The supplier lists line ratings in lb and separate lure ratings in g. Use each specification for its stated purpose rather than converting one into the other.

Shakespeare SALT BOAT rods are built for saltwater boat fishing. Their powerful, sensitive carbon-composite blanks combine bite feedback with the strength needed for fighting fish. The shorter 1.5 m versions suit small boats and kayaks. Heavier versions suit deeper-water fishing for conger, cod and pollock.
The 502 models are 1.5 m long, with 8–12 lb (Light, 140 g) or 12–20 lb (Medium, 170 g) line ratings. The 602 models are 1.8 m long, with 12–20 lb (Medium, 250 g) or 20–30 lb (Heavy, 270 g) ratings. The 702 models in 12–20 lb and 20–30 lb are 2.1 m long and weigh 330 g and 340 g respectively. The 702 - 30-50LB model is specified at 1.8 m and 280 g, with Extra Heavy power. Choose by the stated dimensions rather than the model code alone. All versions have Moderate Fast action. Supplier lure ratings are 8–12 g, 12–20 g, 20–30 g and 30–50 g for the corresponding line classes. These gram ratings and the line ratings in pounds are separate specifications, not equivalent measurements.
Saltwater-resistant zirconium guides support line guidance in marine use, with five guides including the tip on the 1.5 m and 1.8 m versions and six on the 2.1 m versions. Stainless steel is listed for the guide construction. A DPS reel seat holds the reel, while high-density EVA split grips are easy to clean after handling bait and fish. The 8–12 lb and 12–20 lb versions have a rubber butt. The 20–30 lb and 30–50 lb versions have a gimbal butt.
Every model has two sections and cloth-bag packaging. Transport lengths are 79 cm for the 1.5 m rods, 95 cm for the 1.8 m rods and 110 cm for the 2.1 m rods, so compare these with your storage space. Supplier information also describes natural-bait and lure fishing, including pirking and jigging on selected versions. The supplementary species lists for the 12–20 lb versions and the 1.8 m heavier versions include halibut, coalfish, ling, tusk, redfish and haddock. Turbot is also listed for the 602 - 12-20lb and sea bream for the 602 - 20-30LB. These uses do not replace the individual model's stated ratings.
