The THORIZ reels are designed for freshwater and inshore fishing. While they can handle light saltwater conditions, they are optimized for freshwater predator species like pike, perch and zander. For dedicated saltwater use, consider our sea fishing reel range.
HG stands for 'High Gear' and indicates a faster gear ratio (typically 6.2:1) compared to the standard models (5.2:1). HG models retrieve more line per turn, speeding up your presentations and making them perfect for quick retrieves, aggressive jigging and covering water fast.
For pike fishing, we recommend sizes 3000–5000HG. The 4000 offers a great balance of power and control for medium to large baits and spinnerbaits. The 5000HG is best for the heaviest baits and lures. Smaller sizes (1000–2500) work well for young pike and in confined spaces, but larger pike demand the power of a 3000 or bigger.
