EGI (Egi or squid fishing) targets squid and octopus using small jig-like lures. Special fluorocarbon line is essential because squid have excellent vision and can detect standard monofilament or braided lines. Fluorocarbon remains invisible underwater, giving you better presentation and more hook-ups. The super soft construction also allows EGI lures to move naturally in the water, mimicking live baitfish and squid.
Choose based on squid size and bottom conditions. The 0.25mm (4.66kg breaking strain) suits smaller squid and cleaner ground where you want more delicate presentation and reduced visibility.
