The SGS6 Eging sea fishing rods are designed for squid and cuttlefish in ports, from rocky shores and when wading. Their Japanese-inspired egi design uses a shortened butt to reduce wrist strain and leave more blank above the handle. This supports longer casts than traditional egi rods of the same overall length. The extra working blank length also provides a curve that helps hook squid and reduces the risk of tearing free.
All three models have a Fast action and sensitive Toray 40T carbon finesse blanks for working egi lures. Fuji stainless steel K guides with SiC (silicon carbide) inserts are arranged for long casting and line management. A Fuji reel seat holds the reel, while EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate) handles provide the grip.
The 2.51 m ML (Medium Light) model covers egi sizes 2.0-3.0 and weighs 111 g. Choose it for the smaller egi range. The 2.51 m M (Medium) model covers 2.5-3.5 and weighs 116 g, offering the larger egi range at the same length. The 2.59 m M model keeps the 2.5-3.5 range with a longer blank and weighs 122 g.
