The Savage Gear SGS6 is a saltwater-resistant spinning reel with front drag (FD). Its strong, lightweight aluminium body and Carbon Reinforced Composite rotor provide strength while keeping the construction light when retrieving lures and playing fish. The family covers sizes 4000, 5000, 6000, 8000 and 10000. The 5000 is also explicitly suitable for freshwater lure fishing with hardbaits and softbaits.
All versions have 6+1 sealed stainless steel ball bearings and a sealed carbon drag system. Together with DuraGrease, these components contribute to the reel's saltwater resistance. The carbon drag controls line release during the fight. SRC5 coating is also part of the shared construction.
