The SGS2 Long Casting sea spinning rods use 2.90 m long-casting blanks to reach fish from beaches, river mouths and other large waters. Designed for saltwater lure fishing for sea bass and bluefish, they suit minnows, metal lures, spoons and sinking pencils, including casts beyond the swell.
The 10–40 g version has Moderate Fast action, Medium Heavy power and weighs 197 g. It covers the lightest lures in the range. The 15–50 g version combines Fast action with Medium Heavy power at 206 g, extending the upper lure limit while remaining lighter than the heaviest model. It is also described for softbaits and wobblers. The 30–70 g version has Fast action, Heavy power and weighs 229 g, trading extra rod weight for a higher lure rating. All three share the same length and transport dimensions.
The supplier's line ratings are 0.8–1.2 kg for 10–40 g, 1–1.5 kg for 15–50 g and 1.5–2.5 kg for 30–70 g. These are line ratings, not maximum fish weights.
Toray high modulus carbon fibre forms the long-casting blanks. SeaGuide Gunsmoke saltwater guides carry the line in a CCS guide setting, while a SeaGuide Gold Label reel seat holds the reel. Tough EVA handles provide the gripping surfaces for casting and retrieving.
Each rod separates into two sections with a transport length of 149 cm. A deluxe rod bag is included, so allow space for that packed length when planning transport.
