Yes. Every SG6 version has a non-slip Braid-Ready aluminium spool that removes the need for monofilament backing, plus a spare aluminium spool. You can spool braid directly and prepare a second line setup on the spare.
H versions use a 6.2:1 ratio instead of 5.2:1. Line pickup rises from 69 to 82 cm on the 2500, from 75 to 89 cm on the 3000 and from 81 to 97 cm on the 4000 per handle turn. Weight, line capacity and maximum drag stay the same within each size pair, so choose H when you want more line pickup per turn.
The 1000 weighs 195 g and holds 150 m/0.14 mm, the 2500 weighs 222 g and holds 150 m/0.20 mm, the 3000 weighs 229 g and holds 150 m/0.23 mm, and the 4000 weighs 255 g and holds 150 m/0.28 mm. The larger sizes hold the same stated length at a greater line diameter, so compare your intended line diameter against the extra reel weight.
The supplier identifies perch and trout for the 1000, perch and zander for the 2500 sizes, perch, zander and pike for the 3000 sizes, and pike and zander for the 4000 sizes. These are spinning applications, with hardbaits and softbaits expressly mentioned for the 3000 and 4000 sizes. Use these applications as a starting point, then choose by the stated line capacity and retrieve speed.

The Savage Gear SG6 is a spinning reel for active predator fishing. Its Carbon Reinforced Composite (CRC) body and rotor combine stiffness and strength with lower weight than standard graphite, helping keep the setup light during repeated casting and retrieving. The family spans sizes 1000 to 4000, with standard and faster H versions for different retrieve speeds.
The non-slip Braid-Ready aluminium spool accepts braided line without monofilament backing. A spare aluminium spool is included with every version, allowing a second line setup to be prepared separately. The screw-in aluminium handle and TPE soft-touch knob provide a secure, comfortable grip during retrieval. A T-shaped line clip makes line handling easier, and the reel has a cone-shaped bail holder.
DuraGrease supports smooth, long-lasting operation. The reel has 8+1 stainless steel bearings, including two Japanese ball bearings, and a sealed carbon drag system. Maximum drag is 9.5 kg on the 1000, 12.5 kg on both 2500 and 3000 versions, and 15 kg on both 4000 versions. These ratings distinguish the sizes, rather than specifying a fish's maximum weight.
The 1000 weighs 195 g and holds 150 m of 0.14 mm line, making it the lightest option for the supplier's perch and trout applications. The 2500 and 2500H weigh 222 g and hold 150 m of 0.20 mm line, with perch and zander applications identified by the supplier. The 3000 and 3000H weigh 229 g and hold 150 m of 0.23 mm line, with perch, zander and pike applications. The 4000 and 4000H weigh 255 g and hold 150 m of 0.28 mm line, with pike and zander applications. Moving up a size increases the stated line diameter at the same 150 m capacity, at the cost of more reel weight. Hardbaits and softbaits are explicitly supported for the 3000 and 4000 sizes, while the smaller versions are described more generally for spinning.
Standard versions have a 5.2:1 gear ratio and retrieve 60 cm per turn on the 1000, 69 cm on the 2500, 75 cm on the 3000 and 81 cm on the 4000. H versions have a 6.2:1 ratio and retrieve 82 cm on the 2500H, 89 cm on the 3000H and 97 cm on the 4000H. At each paired size, the H version takes in more line per handle turn without changing the stated weight, capacity or maximum drag. Choose between the paired versions by the line pickup you want for your lure presentation.
