The SG4 Medium Game BC casting rods are designed for freshwater lure fishing with a baitcasting reel, including perch and zander fishing. Their balanced design supports feel, while the fast action provides lure control. Under load, the forgiving action helps reduce hook pulls and line breaks.
Use soft lures, crankbaits, spinners, spinnerbaits, twitchbaits and Carolina rigs within the chosen casting-weight range. The 10–30 g version is also explicitly described for jerking, twitching and jigging, with a trigger grip for a baitcasting or multiplier reel. The 14–40 g version also supports finesse rigs.
Both versions are 2.13 m long and have two sections. The 10–30 g version has Medium power and weighs 129 g, making it the lighter option and the choice for lures below 14 g within its rating. The 14–40 g version has Medium | Medium Heavy power and weighs 137 g. It extends the upper lure limit to 40 g, but starts at 14 g rather than 10 g.
