The SG4 Light Game spinning rods are designed for small to medium freshwater lures. Their balanced blanks provide lure feedback, while forgiving actions help reduce hook pulls and line breaks during the fight.
Use small soft lures, crankbaits, spinners, spoons, twitch baits and Carolina rigs within the chosen casting range. The Light versions suit perch and trout fishing with finesse rigs. The 7–22 g versions and the 2.21 m Extra Fast version also have explicit perch and zander applications. The 2.31 m and 2.43 m versions suit bank and boat fishing, while the 2.79 m version is particularly suited to the bank.
The 3–14 g Light options are 2.21 m Extra Fast and 2.51 m Fast. For 5–18 g, choose 2.21 m or 2.51 m Fast in Light power, or the one-piece 2 m Extra Fast in Medium Light power. The 7–22 g MML options are 2.31 m Extra Fast, 2.43 m Fast and 2.79 m Moderate Fast. Match the lure weight first, then compare action and the space available for handling the rod.
The two-piece models use Toray 30T blanks and Seaguide guides with SIN inserts. The Extra Fast two-piece models and the 2.43 m and 2.79 m models have CCS stainless steel guides and a Seaguide Alien Lock Down reel seat. Their blank and Coil Control guide combination supports precise, long casts. The Fast Light models have a coordinated handle and blank design.
Two-piece transport lengths and weights are 114 cm and 105 g for 2.21 m Extra Fast, 118 cm and 105 g for 2.21 m Fast, 134 cm and 114 g for 2.51 m 3–14 g, 134 cm and 120 g for 2.51 m 5–18 g, 120 cm and 118 g for 2.31 m, 126 cm and 129 g for 2.43 m, and 144 cm and 149 g for 2.79 m. The one-piece 2 m version remains 200 cm long for transport, so check storage space rather than assuming the shortest fishing rod packs smallest.
