The Savage Gear SG4 Big Bait Specialist is a baitcasting rod built for anglers who target large predators with oversized lures. With reinforced progressive blanks made from 30T carbon, these rods handle swimbaits, large soft baits, and jerkbaits with confidence.
The 30T carbon blank delivers a powerful progressive action that loads progressively under pressure. The reinforced construction is specifically designed to cope with the demands of casting heavy lures and fighting hard-striking fish. The moderate fast action provides excellent casting distance while maintaining enough backbone for solid hook-sets.
Available in two versions, the SG4 Big Bait Specialist covers casting weights from 85 g up to 220 g. The 2.59 m version (110–220 g) is ideal for the heaviest swimbaits and trolling applications, while the 2.46 m version (85–170 g) offers a slightly more versatile option for a broader range of big bait techniques.
Both models feature SeaGuide guides for smooth line flow and reliable performance. The two-piece design keeps transport lengths between 128 cm and 136 cm, making them manageable for travel and storage.
