The documented 3000H FD and 4000H FD use 6.2:1 gearing rather than 5.2:1 on the corresponding standard versions. Retrieve rises from 75 to 89 cm on the 3000 and from 81 to 97 cm on the 4000, helping with quicker lure presentation. The 3000H weighs 260 g rather than 234 g, while both 4000 versions weigh 276 g. Exact gearing and retrieve figures are not supplied for the 2500H FD.
The 3000 FD holds 150 m at 0.20 mm, the 3000H FD 150 m at 0.23 mm, and both 4000 versions 150 m at 0.28 mm. These figures let you compare the versions against the diameter of your intended line. No capacity is supplied for the 1000 FD or either 2500 version, so do not transfer a sibling's specification.
Yes, every SG2 version in this family comes with an aluminium spool and a spare graphite spool. The spare lets you keep a second line ready without replacing the reel. The supplied evidence does not specify separate capacity figures for the spare spool.
The supplier explicitly describes the 3000 FD for perch, zander and pike, the 3000H FD for zander and perch, and the 4000H FD for zander and pike. The 4000 FD is described more generally for predators. Use the supplied retrieve and capacity figures to compare these versions, rather than assuming identical performance from their shared SG2 construction.

The Savage Gear SG2 is an entry-level spinning reel with a strong, lightweight Graphite Reinforced Composite (GRC) body and rotor. The corrosion-resistant composite and DuraGrease, which protects against corrosion and wear, support repeated use when actively fishing lures for predators.
All versions have 5+1 steel ball bearings, a die-cast aluminium handle and a soft-touch handle knob for comfortable winding. The T-shaped line clip is easy to use when securing the line. An aluminium spool is fitted, and a spare graphite spool is included so you can keep an alternative line ready. The drag system uses felt.
The family comprises 1000 FD, 2500 FD, 2500H FD, 3000 FD, 3000H FD, 4000 FD and 4000H FD. FD denotes front drag. The H versions provide the faster retrieve where specifications are supplied.
3000 FD: 5.2:1 gearing and 75 cm retrieve per turn, weighing 234 g. Line capacity is 150 m at 0.20 mm. The supplier identifies this version for perch, zander and pike lure fishing.
3000H FD: 6.2:1 gearing and 89 cm retrieve per turn, weighing 260 g. Line capacity is 150 m at 0.23 mm. It is described for active lure fishing for zander and perch. Compared with the 3000 FD, it picks up more line per turn for quicker lure presentation but weighs 26 g more.
4000 FD: 5.2:1 gearing and 81 cm retrieve per turn, weighing 276 g. Line capacity is 150 m at 0.28 mm. It is described for predator fishing and holds the stated length of thicker line than either supplied 3000 specification.
4000H FD: 6.2:1 gearing and 97 cm retrieve per turn, weighing 276 g. Line capacity is 150 m at 0.28 mm. For zander and pike lure fishing, it retrieves 16 cm more line per turn than the 4000 FD at the same stated weight and capacity, suiting quicker lure retrieves.
These four versions each have a stated maximum drag of 10.5 kg. The 1000 FD, 2500 FD and 2500H FD share the construction and included equipment above, but their reel weights, line capacities, maximum drag and exact retrieve specifications are not supplied. Choose these by their stated size codes without assuming the figures from another version.
