The Savage Gear Sandeel Surf Walker is a coastal wobbler for spinning for sea trout and cod from beaches, piers, harbours and other coastal marks. Its sandeel shape is based on a 3D scan, reproducing a natural prey fish of sea trout. A magnetic long-cast system holds the treble hooks against the body during the cast, reducing the drag they create in flight to help reach distant water.
A steady retrieve produces a shaking action and pressure waves. Short rod jerks make the lure dart sideways, imitating fleeing prey. You can therefore change the presentation without changing the lure. Floating versions have a quiet action, while sinking versions have a loud action, giving you a choice of sound as well as buoyancy.
The floating options are 12.5 cm at 10 g, 15.5 cm at 17 g, 18 cm at 27 g and 21 cm at 41 g. These let you choose a smaller or larger sandeel profile while matching the actual lure weight to your tackle. Slow-sinking options are 15.5 cm at 23 g and 18 cm at 37 g.
