Use a slow retrieve with short twitches. The flat sides provide water grip and VMS produces movement on the fall, so you can combine retrieval with sinking phases to search different depths.
The stated depth ranges increase with size and weight, from 0.2–5 m for 4.5 cm/5 g to 0.7–25 m for 8 cm/33 g. The intermediate versions are 5 cm/8 g at 0.3–8 m, 6 cm/12 g at 0.4–10 m, 7 cm/18 g at 0.5–15 m and 7.5 cm/25 g at 0.6–20 m. Select a suitable range and ensure your tackle accommodates the lure weight.
No, all variants sink and are designed to search from the surface towards the bottom. The family is intended for saltwater fishing for mackerel, sea bass, needlefish, cod and sea bream, with the 5 cm versions also marketed for sea trout. Choose by the individual depth range rather than treating the Pencil name as a floating-lure specification.
You receive one unscented lure with SGY saltwater UAR 3X NP trebles. Hook sizes vary from #16 on the 4.5 cm versions to #6 on the 8 cm versions. Most 5 cm versions have #14 hooks, but Dark Magic, Saddled Bream and Sparky have #16. Check the chosen variant's hook size when comparing finishes or planning replacements.

The Savage Gear Gravity Pencil is a sinking pencil hardbait for active saltwater lure fishing. Its fixed internal weight is shaped for long casts, helping you cover distant water with a compact lure. The family is intended for mackerel, sea bass, needlefish, cod and sea bream. The 5 cm versions are also marketed for sea trout.
Retrieve slowly with short twitches. The flat-sided profile provides water grip, while the Vivid Movement System (VMS) keeps the lure moving as it falls. Letting it sink allows you to search different levels rather than restrict the presentation to the surface. The rear tubular rattle chamber adds sound during the retrieve.
The smaller versions offer a compact presentation and lighter casting weight. Larger versions combine more weight with a broader stated depth range, so choose according to the depth you want to fish and your tackle's lure-weight rating. These are sinking lures, not floating surface pencils.

The strong ABS body houses the fixed weight and rear rattle. SGY saltwater UAR 3X NP treble hooks provide the supplied hook setup. Hook sizes are #16 on the 4.5 cm versions, #14 on most 5 cm versions, #12 at 6 cm, #10 at 7 cm, #8 at 7.5 cm and #6 at 8 cm. The 5 cm Dark Magic, Saddled Bream and Sparky versions use #16 instead of #14. Each package contains one unscented lure in the selected variant. Lead content is explicitly listed for many variants, check the individual specification if this matters for your water.
Blue Green, Ghost Sardine, Last Flash, Mirror Ayu and Sardine patterns cover all six size groups, with Sardine Photo Print named on the 4.5 cm version. Pink Belly Sardine, Pink Head, Crystal White Glow, Sayoris Photo Print, Pink Barracuda Photo Print, Dark Magic, Saddled Bream and Sparky are available in the 4.5, 5 and 6 cm groups. Photo Print versions are explicitly named as such. Select the colour together with length and weight, without assuming that every finish is offered in the larger sizes.
