The Gravity Pencil is designed for saltwater predators including mackerel, sea bass, sea bream, needlefish, and cod. Smaller sizes (4.5-5 cm) work well for mackerel and sea bream, while larger sizes (7-8 cm) are suited for sea bass and cod.
The Gravity Pencil is best fished with a slow retrieve combined with twitching. This produces an erratic, darting action that imitates a wounded baitfish. The VMS system activates on the fall, adding extra movement during pauses.
Choose based on your target species and conditions: 4.5 cm (5 g) and 5 cm (8 g) for mackerel and sea bream in calmer conditions; 6 cm (12 g) as an all-round size; 7 cm (18 g) and 7.5 cm (25 g) for sea bass and when more casting distance is needed; 8 cm (33 g) for the deepest presentations and strongest currents.
The Gravity Pencil is primarily designed for saltwater use and comes with corrosion-resistant saltwater treble hooks. It can also be used effectively in freshwater for species like sea trout, perch, and other predators, though the hooks are optimised for salt and brackish water conditions.
VMS stands for Vivid Movement System. It is a feature built into the Gravity Pencil that produces a fluttering, lifelike movement when the lure sinks or pauses during the retrieve, adding extra attraction without any input from the angler.
