FS sinks quickly with a lively fall and suits slower twitches or a fast, high-rod skipping retrieve. XS sinks extra quickly with a dead-fish fall and suits aggressive twitching for active fish. Choose XS for longer casting and rapid access to depth in strong current, or FS when the lively falling action matters more.
Yes. It is designed for saltwater casting from both positions, with the supplier stating casts of up to 120 m. From shore you can search from bottom to surface, while offshore you can cast towards feeding fish from a distance. It is not limited to surface fishing, so compare the stated depth ranges when selecting a version.
At 9.5 cm, FS is 26 g for 1–10 m and XS is 32 g for 1.5–15 m. At 11.5 cm, FS is 44 g for 1–15 m and XS is 63 g for 2–30 m. At 13 cm, FS is 73 g for 1.5–25 m and XS is 93 g for 2–50 m. At the same length, choose XS when the extra weight and deeper stated range suit your fishing.
You receive one lure in the selected colour with SGY Saltwater UAR 4X NP trebles fitted. The 9.5 cm FS uses #5, 9.5 cm XS #4, 11.5 cm FS #2, and 11.5 cm XS and both 13 cm versions #1. Hook size therefore changes with the version, so use the model-specific size when comparing replacements.
No. The supplier lists tungsten tuning, lead content and an unscented bait. Tungsten tuning describes the lure's balance, not an absence of lead. If lead-free tackle or scent is important to your choice, this lure does not meet those requirements.

The Savage Gear Cast Hacker is a compact, sinking Longcast Pencil for saltwater lure fishing from the shore and offshore. Its long-cast design lets you search a large area from bottom to surface or reach feeding fish from a distance. The supplier states casting distances of up to 120 m. A reinforced Thru Wired body provides the strength needed for saltwater game fishing.
FS (fast sinking) models have a lively falling action that can provoke less active fish. Work them with slower twitches, or retrieve quickly with the rod held high for a skipping action that imitates a fleeing baitfish.
XS (extra fast sinking) models fall much faster, imitating a sinking dead or injured fish. They suit aggressive twitching for active predators, including difficult weather conditions. Compared with FS, XS offers longer casting and faster access to deep water in strong current, rather than the livelier FS fall. Both versions have slide and skipping action and VMS (vivid movement system).
Each length is available in two weights. Choose the sinking version first, then match the lure's weight and stated depth range to your fishing situation.
| Length | FS weight and depth | XS weight and depth | | :--- | :--- | :--- | | 9.5 cm | 26 g, 1–10 m | 32 g, 1.5–15 m | | 11.5 cm | 44 g, 1–15 m | 63 g, 2–30 m | | 13 cm | 73 g, 1.5–25 m | 93 g, 2–50 m |
At the same length, XS adds weight and a deeper stated range. FS retains the lively fall and slower-twitch presentation.
Tungsten tuning balances the lure, while an internal rattle adds sound to the presentation. The compact body has reinforced through-wire construction for demanding saltwater use. Despite its tungsten tuning, the supplier also lists lead content. The lure is unscented.
The fitted hooks are SGY Saltwater UAR 4X NP trebles. Hook sizes vary with the model: 9.5 cm FS uses #5, 9.5 cm XS uses #4, 11.5 cm FS uses #2, 11.5 cm XS uses #1, and both 13 cm versions use #1. One lure in the selected colour is supplied.
FS colours are Sayoris Loose Scales, Blue Green Orange Loose Scales, Ghost Sardine Loose Scales, Mackerel Ayu Loose Scales and Pink Head Loose Scales. XS colours are Pink Black Loose Scales, Bloody Anchovy Loose Scales, Pink Belly Sardine, Sardine Loose Scales and Pink Head Loose Scales. Each colour is available in all three lengths within its sinking version. The supplier lists grouper and snapper for most variants and panfish for the 9.5 cm FS Sayoris variant. Colour names describe the selected finish, not a separate depth or sinking action.
