It is suitable for both ultralight spinning and use on a fly rod. The 5 cm, 2.5 g nymph is intended for trout, perch, chub and bass in currents or still water, so the same model covers both methods and water situations.
Brown, Olive, Green, Yellow Belly, Pink and Black share the same 5 cm length and 2.5 g weight. Each pack contains one nymph with a sharp hook fitted. Brown, Olive, Green and Yellow Belly specify hook size #3, while Pink and Black do not specify a size. Choose by colour without changing lure size or weight.
The legs flutter on the drop and make micro movements, while short twitches produce a tail kick. Small hops also move the legs, giving you distinct movements from pauses and gentle rod inputs rather than requiring a continuous retrieve.
Not with PVC soft lures. The manufacturer explicitly requires separate storage for TPE and recommends the supplied clam pack because the material has a memory effect. Keep it in that packaging to help preserve the nymph's shape.

The Savage Gear 3D TPE Mayfly Nymph is a soft artificial mayfly nymph for ultralight spinning and fly fishing. Based on a 3D scan of a real nymph, it combines realistic detail with moving legs and an active tail for presenting an insect imitation to trout, perch, chub and bass. It can be used in both currents and still water. Brown, Olive, Green and Yellow Belly are explicitly specified for freshwater.
The legs make micro movements and flutter on the drop, while short twitches produce a tail kick. Small hops also animate the legs, allowing you to vary the presentation without relying solely on a steady retrieve. The realistic colours and detailed shape are intended for wary fish.
The soft, elastic TPE body feels natural when a fish bites and is designed to withstand repeated bites. Each pack contains one nymph with a sharp hook already fitted, rather than an unrigged body. Brown, Olive, Green and Yellow Belly are specified with a strong, ultra-sharp size #3 hook. The hook size is not specified for Pink or Black.
Brown, Olive, Green, Yellow Belly, Pink and Black all measure 5 cm and weigh 2.5 g. These variants offer a colour choice at the same size and weight. No colour-specific fishing conditions are specified by the suppliers.
Do not store this TPE lure with PVC soft lures. TPE has a memory effect, so the manufacturer recommends keeping it in the supplied clam pack to preserve its shape.
