Choose between 8.5 cm / 11 g, 11 cm / 15 g, 12.5 cm / 19 g, 13.5 cm / 23 g and 15 cm / 27 g according to the prey size you want to imitate and your rod’s casting rating. The smaller versions give a shorter, lighter presentation, while larger versions increase both profile and casting load.
The lure body can slide up the line after a take, reducing the leverage its weight gives the fish against the hook. Savage Gear recommends soft fluorocarbon or Finezze mono as the trace, so choose one of those trace materials for this setup.
A steady retrieve produces a slim S-curve with the head slightly raised. Pauses make the lure flutter and roll backwards, while short twitches make it dart and flash. Alternate these movements to vary the sandeel presentation without changing lures.
The manufacturer lists one glow bead, one UV red bead, one clear glass bead, a matt black oval split ring, a forged wide-gape large-eye single hook and an SG Y-Treble with each lure. Both hooks have DG Stealth finish, giving you single and treble options. One lure is supplied, not a colour assortment.
Its stated primary use is coastal spinning for sea trout, with cod also named by the supplier. It imitates sandeels found along North Sea and Baltic coasts. Choose it for that coastal presentation rather than treating it as a freshwater-specific lure.
No universal specification is provided. Detailed variant records state sinking buoyancy and a surface-to-1 m running depth, but other variants lack those entries. Check the individual specification if buoyancy or depth is decisive rather than assuming these values across every colour and size.

The Savage Gear 3D Line Thru Sandeel is a hard-bodied sea trout lure for coastal spinning, also described for cod. It imitates a sandeel, an important prey fish along North Sea and Baltic coasts. Its line-through system lets the body slide up the line after a take, reducing the leverage a hooked fish can gain from the lure's weight.
The detailed ABS body swims in a slim S-curve with its head slightly raised. During a retrieve pause it flutters and rolls backwards, imitating a fleeing sandeel trying to bury itself in the sand. Short rod-tip twitches make it dart and flash, so a steady retrieve can be varied with pauses and brief movements. The strong ABS construction supports repeated use, while an internal spear helps long casts even in wind, useful when covering open coastal water.
This range includes 8.5 cm / 11 g, 11 cm / 15 g, 12.5 cm / 19 g, 13.5 cm / 23 g and 15 cm / 27 g versions. Choose by the prey size you want to imitate and your rod's casting-weight range. Moving up the range increases both the sandeel profile and the load on the tackle, while the smallest version offers the shortest, lightest presentation.
Colours include Sandeel, Sandeel Ghost, Motor Oil, Matt White Tobis, Black/Red, Black Silver, Black Ghost, Black Yellow Glow, Black Glow, Blue Silver UV, Brown Copper Red Dots, Hot Purple and Electric Sandeel. LS Sandeel Ghost, LS Olive Ghost and LS Red Black are also available in 11 cm, 12.5 cm and 13.5 cm. Not every colour is offered in every size. Select the exact colour and size combination shown on the variant, rather than assuming that a finish is available throughout the range.
Sinking buoyancy and a running depth from the surface to 1 m are stated for variants with detailed specifications. These specifications suit a shallow presentation and should not be assumed for variants without those entries. Unscented versions are identified individually. The supplier confirms that the lures contain lead.
Savage Gear recommends soft fluorocarbon or Finezze mono line as the trace. The manufacturer's line description lists one glow bead, one UV red bead, one clear glass bead and one matt black oval split ring with each lure. It also lists a forged, sharp wide-gape single hook with a large eye and an SG Y-Treble, both in DG Stealth finish. These provide single-hook and treble-hook options for the line-through setup.
One lure is supplied in the selected variant. Where specified, hook sizes are 10 for the 8.5 cm versions, Front 6 / Back 3/0 for 11 cm, Front 5 / Back 4/0 for 12.5 cm and 13.5 cm, and Front 4 / Back 4/0 for 15 cm. Consult the variant's listed hook specification before choosing replacements.
