The Salmo Thrill Sinking is a sinking crankbait developed for asp hunting bleak. Its baitfish shape and high-frequency, flashing action imitate small fleeing fish. Weight and aerodynamics support long casts, making it useful when predators are feeding beyond easy casting range. It can also be used for pike, zander and perch feeding on small prey fish.
A fast, steady retrieve is the simplest presentation and keeps the lure running shallow, including just below the surface. Slower retrieval lets it run deeper. Occasionally raising the rod tip during a fast retrieve can bring it through the surface to imitate jumping baitfish. When retrieving slowly, add small rod-tip movements to produce extra flashes. No fixed running depth is supplied, so choose the retrieve to suit the depth you want to fish rather than treating it as a fixed-depth diver.
The family includes 5 cm versions weighing 6.5 g and 7 cm versions weighing 7 g. Choose the smaller or larger baitfish profile to suit the prey size you want to imitate, and check the stated lure weight against your tackle. Both sizes are sinking and share the same retrieval options.
