The sinking 4.5 cm lure weighs 5 g and runs at 1.0–2.0 m, while the sinking 6 cm lure weighs 8 g and runs at 1.5–2.5 m. The floating 6 cm lure weighs 6 g and runs at 1.0–1.5 m. Choose the smaller sinking model for a smaller profile, the larger sinking model for the deepest stated range here, or the floating model for a shallower presentation and working over obstacles.
Yes. The supplier describes both upstream and downstream use in fast-flowing streams, as well as trolling for zander. Casting upstream and retrieving in an arc across the river is one stated method. Match the selected variant's running range to the water you want to cover, as the available versions range from 1.0–1.5 m to 1.5–2.5 m.
Both sinking sizes are available in Bullhead and Hot Bullhead. The floating 6 cm version comes in Clown and Hot Perch. Each pack contains one lure, so choose size and buoyancy first, then a colour offered for that version.
No snag-free guarantee is supplied. The supplier describes the floating version as deflecting off obstacles and being worked over them. Its buoyancy is therefore a reason to choose it for obstructed water, but you still need to account for the obstacles when retrieving.
The supplier warns that the lure may contain lead or cadmium and that prolonged exposure can be harmful. Wash your hands thoroughly after handling and avoid ingestion or contact with food. These precautions matter when handling tackle before eating.

The Salmo Bullhead is a sculpin-imitating crankbait for spinning and trolling in rivers and lakes. Originally developed for large brown trout, it is also used for perch and zander. Its fish-shaped profile and swimming action provide an imitation of this prey fish, while sinking and floating versions let you choose according to running depth and obstacles.
The variants offered here differ in more than colour. The 4.5 cm sinking version weighs 5 g and has a stated running depth of 1.0–2.0 m. It gives you the smaller profile in Bullhead or Hot Bullhead. The 6 cm sinking version weighs 8 g and runs at 1.5–2.5 m, combining a larger profile with the deepest stated range in this selection. It is also available in Bullhead or Hot Bullhead.
The 6 cm floating version weighs 6 g and runs at 1.0–1.5 m. Choose Clown or Hot Perch when you want this larger profile in the shallower stated range. Its buoyancy allows it to be worked over obstacles, and the supplier describes it as deflecting off them. This is a handling advantage around obstructions, not a claim that the lure cannot snag.
The Bullhead is described for working deep pools for trout and for trolling for zander. In fast-flowing streams it can be fished both upstream and downstream. One supported approach is to cast upstream, then retrieve in an arc across the river and back towards your position. Gentle rod movements can vary the lure's action. Choose the variant by its stated depth range rather than treating all Bullheads as equally deep-running.
Salmo uses a High Density Space-Aged Foam (HDSF) body for toughness and through-wire construction welded at the ends. The polycarbonate diving lip is the component that drives the crankbait's diving presentation. Rasco split rings are made in the USA. Every Bullhead is handcrafted and painted in Poland, individually tank tested and hand tuned to check its swimming action before use. The model has been in the Salmo range since 1991.
The line includes natural finishes using Holographic Feature Technology and True Image Technology, as well as fluorescent patterns. Each pack contains one lure in the selected variant.
The supplier warns that this product may contain chemicals such as lead or cadmium and that prolonged exposure can be harmful. Wash your hands thoroughly after handling. Avoid ingestion and contact with food.
