It is designed for large predators, with pike spinning in rivers and still waters explicitly described. At 18 cm and 55 g, it is a large softbait, so choose it when that lure size and weight suit your intended presentation.
Yes. The tail kicks and the body maintains its side-to-side roll even on slow retrieves. During a pause, the tail stabilizes the lure as it slowly descends, so you can combine slow winding with sinking pauses rather than relying on a fast retrieve.
They differ in colour. Every SFOU18 variant is 18 cm long and weighs 55 g, with the same action. Choose by the supplied colour name or code, including BLRC, whose full colour name is not provided. No colour-specific fishing conditions are stated.
No fixed depth is specified. The supplier states variable swimming depth and different rigging options, allowing adaptation to the situation. Specific rig types and hook sizes are not named, so check compatibility separately instead of assuming a particular setup is specified.

The Rapala Soft Otus is an 18 cm, 55 g soft plastic lure for large predators, including pike in rivers and still waters. This softbait version of the X-Rap® Otus combines its established action with different rigging options. The large curl tail and rolling body keep the lure moving even when retrieved slowly.
The tail kicks widely while the body rolls from side to side. On a pause, the tail stabilizes the lure as it slowly swims down, allowing pauses to be part of the presentation rather than simply interrupting it. The textured soft plastic body increases vibrations in the water. A three-dimensional scale pattern gives the surface a lifelike appearance.
Different rigging options allow the Soft Otus to be adapted to the fishing situation. Swimming depth is variable rather than specified as a fixed metre range. The supplier does not identify particular compatible hook sizes or rig types, so these should be checked separately when choosing a setup.
All variants use model SFOU18 and share the same 18 cm length, 55 g weight and action. The choice is the colour, not a different size or weight. Available colours are Blue Glitter (BLG), Blue Ghost (BGH), Fire Tiger (FT), Silver (S), Scaled Roach (SCRR), Smelt On the Beach (SMB), Sunny Snow (SNS), Live Rainbow Trout (RTL), Minnow (MNW), Live Perch (PEL), Halloween (HLW), Lava Roach (LAR) and BLRC. The supplier gives no condition-specific colour guidance, and BLRC is identified only by its colour code.
Inspect the lure and rig before use and do not continue fishing with damaged parts. Handle any sharp hooks with pliers and keep the casting area clear. Store tackle in a separate, closed box and keep it dry to help prevent hook corrosion. This is fishing equipment, not a toy, and must be kept away from unsupervised children and pets. Follow local fishing regulations.
