It is a floating topwater lure with walk-the-dog action for freshwater pike and perch fishing. Its side-to-side presentation stays at the surface, so choose a different lure when you need to search deeper water.
The options are 8.7 cm at 12 g with #5 hooks, 10.7 cm at 21 g with #3 hooks and 12.7 cm at 26 g with #3 hooks. Choose the smaller size for a compact profile or a larger size for a longer profile, and check that your rod's casting range covers the selected weight.
A sliding internal weight alternately strikes a plastic pillar and a stainless-steel weight, creating high and low sounds to attract fish. The same weight system supports long casts, combining a surface presentation with sound and casting reach.
Within each size, the 13 finishes have the same listed length and weight. Choose size and casting weight first, then select the finish you want. The supplier does not specify which finish to use for particular light or water-clarity conditions.
VMC® 7548 Black Nickel trebles are fitted, so separate hooks are not needed for the supplied setup. Inspect them and the body before use, handle hooks with pliers and store the lure in a closed, dry tackle box away from children to reduce injuries, tangling and hook rust.

The Rapala Precision Xtreme Pencil is a floating topwater lure for freshwater lure fishing for pike and perch. Its walk-the-dog action creates a side-to-side surface presentation, while an internal sliding weight system supports long casts and produces alternating high and low sounds. Choose it for fishing on the surface rather than searching deeper water.
The internal weight travels along a rail and alternately strikes a plastic pillar and a stainless-steel weight. This Dual Frequency Knocker creates two different pitches to attract fish from near and far. The same moving weight system provides the lure's long-casting design, helping reach more distant surface-feeding fish.
The lead-free plastic body has a continuous through-wire construction and an internal pillar that increases durability. Its textured, translucent body, printed scales and holographic 3D eyes add detail to the presentation. VMC® 7548 Black Nickel treble hooks are supplied, so no separate hook rig needs assembling.
There are three size and weight options: 8.7 cm at 12 g, 10.7 cm at 21 g and 12.7 cm at 26 g. The smallest gives a more compact surface presentation and a lighter casting load. The middle option increases the profile and weight, while the largest offers the longest profile and requires tackle suited to 26 g. Choose the size first to match your desired presentation and your rod's casting range. The 8.7 cm version has size #5 hooks, while both larger sizes have size #3 hooks. Supplier specifications confirm two trebles on PXRP87 and PXRP107 and three on the explicitly specified PXRP127 variants.
Each size is offered in 13 freshwater finishes: Ayu, Bleak, Clown, Elite Blue, Firetiger, Ghost Shiner, Glassy Gill UV, Lime Frog, Moss Black Shinner, Live Perch, Pearl White, Silver and Smelt On The Beach. Colour changes the finish, not the listed size or weight. No finish-specific water-clarity or light-condition recommendation is supplied.
Inspect the body, hooks and connections before use and do not fish with a damaged lure. Use pliers when handling hooks and keep sharp trebles away from people, clothing and pets. Store the lure in a separate, closed, dry tackle box to reduce tangling, injuries and hook rust. Keep it out of children's reach, check the line connection regularly and keep the casting area clear. Use it only for fishing and follow local regulations.
