No. All supplied sizes have a stated running depth of 0.3–0.9 m. Choose among 11 cm/13 g, 13 cm/15 g, 15 cm/23 g and 17 cm/28 g for the baitfish profile and lure weight, not for a deeper running range.
Yes. A steady retrieve produces the flashing wounded-minnow wobble, while sharp twitches make the lure dart sideways. The family is described as suspending on a pause, so you can alternate continuous movement, rod inputs and pauses within its shallow running range.
Start by comparing the 11 cm/13 g and 13 cm/15 g options for a smaller baitfish profile, including perch fishing. The 15 cm/23 g and 17 cm/28 g options offer a larger presentation for pike. The larger profile also increases lure weight, so check your tackle's casting-weight compatibility before choosing.
You receive one lure in the chosen variant, fitted with VMC® Needle Sharp Inline hooks and an oval line-tie split ring. Hook sizes differ: the 11 cm and 13 cm versions list #6, while 15 cm and 17 cm list #4. Manufacturer-coded MXR11 variants list two hooks, MXR13 three, and MXR15/MXR17 three. Check the variant details where a hook count is not supplied.
Handle the sharp hooks carefully, use pliers when working at the hooks and inspect the lure and connections before every use. Store it in a separate closed tackle box and keep the box dry to reduce rust and prevent tangling or accidental hook injuries. Do not use a damaged lure.

The Rapala MaxRap® is a shallow-running wobbler for predator lure fishing. Its internal MaxCast mechanism, aerodynamic profile and tungsten-ball balancing support long, accurate casts. With a stated running depth of 0.3–0.9 m, the family lets you work the upper water layer rather than target deep water.
A straight retrieve produces the flashing Rapala wounded-minnow wobble. Sharp rod twitches make the lure dart sideways for a more erratic presentation. The line is described as suspending on the pause, so pauses can interrupt the retrieve without an immediate rise to the surface. Holographic foil and scale detailing add flash as the lure moves. Internal laser-etched scales and deep 3D holographic eyes are also described in the manufacturer's family features.
The range comprises 11 cm at 13 g, 13 cm at 15 g, 15 cm at 23 g and 17 cm at 28 g, all with the same stated 0.3–0.9 m running depth. Choose the smaller sizes for a smaller baitfish presentation, including perch fishing. The larger versions offer a larger profile for pike, with more lure weight to account for when choosing compatible tackle. Moving up in size does not provide a deeper stated running range.
Where manufacturer model codes are supplied, these are MXR11, MXR13, MXR15 and MXR17. The manufacturer lists two #6 hooks for MXR11, three #6 hooks for MXR13 and three #4 hooks for MXR15 and MXR17. Other variants have a supplied hook size but no confirmed hook count. Finishes include Live Ayu, Live Baby Sea Bass, Live Blue Sardine, Live Mullet, Live Blue Mackerel, Live Green Mackerel, Live Lanzon and Baby Cuda. Flake Ayu, Flake Anchovy, Flake Blue, Flake Hot Chartreuse, Flake Purple Ghost, Flake Red Head, Flake Silver and High Speed provide further choices. Check the individual variant for its size, finish and available model code rather than assuming every combination is supplied.
The MaxRap® comes with VMC® Needle Sharp Inline hooks and an oval line-tie split ring at the attachment point. The manufacturer's family description also states that the lures are hand-tuned and tank-tested. Each purchase contains one lure in the selected variant. Plastic body material is confirmed in the manufacturer specifications where supplied.
Handle the sharp hooks with care and use pliers when attaching or removing the lure at the hooks. Before each use, inspect the body, hooks and connections, and do not fish a damaged lure. Store it in a separate closed tackle box and keep the box dry to reduce hook rust. Keep hooks clear of people and animals while casting, and keep lures away from unsupervised children and pets. Use only for fishing and follow local fishing rules.
