The Countdown Squid lets you apply Rapala's legendary Countdown method to squid and octopus fishing. Cast, count down at roughly 30 cm per second, and work exactly the depth where cephalopods hide.
Crafted from lightweight balsa wood, the SQCD11 sinks steadily and predictably. This controlled descent allows you to count down to your target depth—whether that's a rocky ledge at 2 m or a sandy pocket at 3 m—and keep the lure in the strike zone longer.
Two precision-sharpened 2×12 stainless-steel hook crowns encircle the body, maximising contact when a cautious squid wraps its tentacles around the lure. The corrosion-resistant material stands up to saltwater use season after season.
The Countdown Squid is available in two sizes and a range of colour patterns to suit varying conditions and target species.
