Retrieve it quickly and steadily to make it skitter and jump, creating splash and noise. It floats and works on the surface, so choose it for an active surface presentation rather than fishing at depth.
Yes, the upturned heavy-duty VMC 7925 Black Nickel double hook and thick rubber skirt are designed to reduce snagging in cover. They help you reach sheltered ambush spots, but do not make the lure completely snag-proof.
The 4.5 cm version weighs 7.5 g and has a size 1/0 hook, while the 5.5 cm version weighs 13 g and has a size 2/0 hook. Choose the smaller, lighter or larger, heavier presentation to suit your intended lure size and tackle rating. Both retain the floating frog action.
You receive one lure in the selected colour. All 12 finishes are offered in both sizes, so select the size and colour combination you want rather than expecting several colours in one pack.
Inspect the body, hooks and connections before fishing, and stop using a damaged lure. Store it separately in a closed, dry tackle box to reduce tangles, accidental hook injuries and corrosion. Use pliers around the hooks and keep the lure away from unsupervised children and pets.

The Rapala BX Skitter Frog is a floating frog imitation for fishing around dense cover where predators wait to ambush prey. Its upturned, heavy-duty VMC double hook and thick rubber skirt help it pass through cover with fewer snags, making sheltered spots accessible for surface presentations to pike and perch.
A fast, steady retrieve makes the lure skitter and jump across the surface, producing splash and noise. This is an active surface presentation, not a diving lure. The responsive balsa core supplies the lively action, while the copolymer outer shell protects the body against repeated contact with toothy predators. The fitted double hook is a VMC 7925 Black Nickel. The hook orientation and skirt reduce snagging, but do not guarantee a snag-free retrieve.
The smaller version is 4.5 cm long, weighs 7.5 g and carries a size 1/0 hook. The larger version is 5.5 cm long, weighs 13 g and carries a size 2/0 hook. Choose between a smaller, lighter presentation and a larger, heavier lure, matching the lure weight to your tackle. Where explicitly listed, the model codes are BXSF04 and BXSF05 respectively.
Both sizes are offered in Fire Snake, Gold Fluorescent Red, Hot Peacock Bass, Hot Snake, Live Leopard Frog, Matte Chrome, Night Aurora, Pale Bone, Parrot UV, Silver Fluorescent Chartreuse Orange, Thai Frog and Toman. Select the desired finish independently of size. Each option contains one lure in the selected colour, not a colour assortment.
Check the body, hooks and connections before use, and do not fish a damaged lure. Use pliers when working around the hooks and keep sharp points away from people and clothing. Store the lure in a separate, closed tackle box and keep the box dry to limit hook corrosion. Keep it away from unsupervised children and pets, and observe local fishing rules.
