Prologic XLNT HP: discreet carp mainline

Prologic XLNT HP is a sinking monofilament mainline for freshwater carp fishing. Its four-tone Camo pattern helps conceal the line on the lake bed, reducing its visibility to wary carp. It suits fixed-lead, self-hooking and running-lead rigs.

Knot strength, casting and abrasion resistance

This improved version of XLNT uses a new extrusion process and Twin build Co-polymer to increase knot strength and reduce memory. Less retained coil shape helps line handling, while the line's good casting performance supports casting carp rigs. High abrasion resistance helps where the mainline contacts rough surfaces. The line has controlled stretch, not a stated percentage or a claim of zero stretch.

Choose diameter and breaking strain together

All versions have the same 1000 m spool length and Camo colour. The differences are diameter and rated breaking strain:

XLNT HP is a freshwater carp mainline suitable for fixed-lead, self-hooking and running-lead rigs. Choose its diameter and rated breaking strain to suit your setup. All versions share the sinking four-tone Camo construction.

How do the diameter options differ?

The range runs from 0.22 mm at 3.9 kg to 0.43 mm at 13.1 kg. Intermediate diameters offer progressively higher rated breaking strains. Thicker line takes up more spool space per metre, so compare breaking strain with your reel capacity when selecting a version.

Does the line float or sink?

It sinks and settles onto the bed. The four-tone Camo pattern helps conceal it there, making it useful for less conspicuous carp presentations rather than a floating mainline setup.

What has changed compared with XLNT?

A new extrusion process and Twin build Co-polymer increase knot strength and reduce memory compared with XLNT. This helps handling and casting, but the line still has controlled stretch and is not described as memory-free.
