Pilkmaxx Mx Dropshot Sb lead weights are designed for dropshot rigs targeting perch, zander and pike in saltwater. Their shaped bodies stabilise the rig on the bottom and provide a controlled descent, leaving the lure free to move above the weight in the current.
The weight works separately from the hook and lure, unlike a jig head that carries the hook directly. This allows you to hold bottom contact while presenting the lure above it. The shape helps limit rig twisting and snagging during bottom presentation. Intended locations include coastal stretches, harbours and sea bays with bottom structure, as well as edges worked with a jigging action.
Single-weight versions are available in 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 25, 28, 30 and 40 g. Weight is the main difference between these versions, allowing you to adjust the rig's bottom control. No fixed depth or current rating is specified.
The 5/7/10/12/14 g and 16/18/20/25 g assortments provide several weights for adjusting the same setup.
