The PENN WRATH II SURFCAST rods are designed for saltwater surfcasting with casting weights up to 250 g. A strong, responsive blank and anti-slip casting grip support long, accurate casts, while the sensitive tip makes bites visible.
The graphite-composite blank is specified as 24T Carbon with a Fast action. Stainless steel guides with Titanium Oxide inserts provide durability for sea fishing. Each rod has eight guides including the tip, a DPS Type reel seat and a carbon-fibre handle with an anti-slip casting area. The finish is Black Gold.
All three models have three sections and the same maximum casting weight of 250 g. Model 393 measures 3.90 m, weighs 472 g and packs to 138 cm. It is the shortest and lightest option, with the smallest transport length. Model 423 measures 4.20 m, weighs 539 g and packs to 149 cm, sitting between the other two in length, weight and packed size. Model 453 measures 4.50 m, weighs 645 g and packs to 159 cm. Choose it when you want the longest rod in the family and can accommodate the extra weight and transport length. Each is supplied in a cloth bag.
Supplier use examples include flatfish such as flounder and dab. The 4.20 m model is also described for sea bass and sea trout in the surf. These are surfcasting rods, with the same 250 g maximum rating across the range rather than different casting-weight classes.
