The PENN Tidal XR Beach Caster range is designed for saltwater surfcasting with either fixed-spool or multiplier reels. Its slim, lightweight and responsive high-modulus 30/40T carbon blank uses Carbon X-Wrap reinforcement to increase strength and reduce twisting, supporting casting accuracy and control.
All versions have a Fast action, Medium Heavy power and a 112–225 g casting rating. The Japanese X-Shrink casting grip uses shrink tubing for a secure hold during the cast. A glow-in-the-dark tip helps you spot bites in low light, while saltwater-resistant Fuji guides provide line guidance. A DPS Type reel seat completes the setup.
The 3.9 m version weighs 610 g and packs down to 137 cm, making it the lightest and most compact option in the family. The 4.2 m version weighs 650 g with a 147 cm transport length, offering an intermediate length with only 40 g more weight. The 4.8 m version is intended for fishing at greater distances and weighs 740 g, with a 167 cm transport length. Its extra length comes with the greatest weight and packed size. All three have the same casting rating and break down into three sections.
The 3.9 m and 4.2 m rods have 10 guides including the tip, while the 4.8 m rod has nine. The 3.9 m finish is Blue, with Transparent Blue on the two longer versions. Each rod is supplied in a cloth bag.
