These surf rods from the PENN Tidal Surfcasting Series are designed for saltwater fishing from the beach. Their slim, strong and responsive 30T Carbon blanks support long casts, while the solid carbon Sensitip bends smoothly to show small bites in the surf. The blanks were developed by surfcasting specialists across Europe.
Both versions have Fast action, Medium Heavy power and a 100-250 g casting rating. Seven stainless steel K-type guides, including the tip guide, resist saltwater and reduce tangles during casting, particularly in windy conditions. A durable shrink-wrap split grip and Japanese X-Shrink Casting Grip provide a comfortable hold and a dedicated gripping area for the cast. Both rods use a DPS Type reel seat.
The 423 is 4.20 m long, weighs 672 g and packs down to 151 cm. It is the shorter, lighter option and needs less transport space. The 453 is 4.50 m long, weighs 701 g and packs down to 161 cm.
