The PENN Squall II Star Drag is a lightweight conventional sea fishing reel for surf fishing and light offshore work. Its Live Spindle design uses a free-floating spool to improve casting, while the 6.1:1 gearing retrieves 102 cm of line per handle turn. The Fast Gear Access Side Plate provides quick access to the gearing for maintenance.
This selection covers sizes 25N and 30, each with a right-hand or left-hand handle. Choose the side you prefer to wind with. The 25N weighs 522 g, while the 30 weighs 533 g. Size 30 offers more line capacity at comparable line diameters, at the cost of 11 g extra weight. Neither size changes the gearing, retrieve per turn or maximum drag of 11.3 kg. The right-hand 25N is also suitable for lure fishing, and the left-hand 30 for pirking.

Braid capacities above are rounded metric conversions of the supplier's yard and pound ratings. Choose size 30 when you need a larger line reserve, or 25N when lower weight matters more. The aluminium spool is supplied without line, and no spare spool is included.
The star drag uses the Versa-Drag system with HT-100 washers and provides up to 11.3 kg of drag. The star control lets you adjust resistance during the fight. Instant Anti-Reverse prevents backward handle movement, while the 6+1 stainless steel bearing system supports retrieval.
