The PENN SQUADRON IV Boat sea fishing rods are built for drifting lures over wrecks and general bottom fishing for cod, ling and pollock. Their slim, powerful high-modulus 24T Carbon blanks combine fast action with a two-piece design. The heavier versions also suit halibut fishing in Norway.
All four rods are 210 cm long. The 6-12lb version weighs 283 g, the 12-20lb version 289 g, the 20-30lb version 303 g and the 30-50lb version 320 g. Choose by the line class required for your setup. Moving up the range increases line rating and rod weight without changing length or transport size. The lb figures are line ratings, not casting weights.
Eight PENN Dura-Guides, including the tip, use tough, one-piece stainless steel construction. They resist saltwater and accommodate all line types, including monofilament and braid, so changing line does not require a different guide system. A DPS Type reel seat completes the setup.
Ergonomically shaped, high-density EVA handles provide a comfortable grip and are easy to clean. The graphite gimbal has a protective cover and provides a locating point for a compatible fighting belt. Each black rod separates into two pieces for a transport length of 111 cm and comes in a cloth bag.
The additional supplier also lists coalfish, wolffish, tusk and redfish across the range, plus squid for the 20-30lb and 30-50lb versions. For halibut, follow the primary supplier's guidance toward the heavier versions.
