The PENN REGIMENT IV Jig 601 sea fishing rods are designed for jigging from a boat for cod and halibut. Their SLS3 construction creates a slim, lighter high-modulus 30T carbon blank for comfortable handling, while the relatively short design provides leverage when applying pressure to fish.
The palming reel seat accommodates multiplier and low-profile reels for a comfortable hold around the reel. A triangular, high-density EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate) front grip provides purchase during the fight. Both rods have a cross gimbal.
Both versions have Fast action and seven SeaGuide aluminium oxide guides including the tip. The guides are strong and saltwater-proof for use at sea. The rods have a Silver finish.
The 20-30lb c version has Heavy power, a listed length of 2.40 m and a rod weight of 380 g. It offers the longer rod and lower line class of the pair.
