The PENN Fierce IV Live Liner is a saltwater spinning reel for bait fishing, also suitable for freshwater use. Its adjustable Live Liner system lets a fish take line under a separately set resistance, then automatically disengages when you turn the handle. The front drag takes over for playing the fish.
A full metal body and sideplate support the reel under load. The HT-100 carbon fibre drag washers provide the front drag, with maximum drag varying from 5.4 to 13.6 kg across the four sizes. Four sealed stainless steel ball bearings and an Instant Anti-Reverse bearing make up the five-bearing system. The seals protect the ball bearings, not a stated waterproof seal for the whole reel. Instant Anti-Reverse stops backward handle movement, while the Techno-Balanced rotor supports smooth retrieval.
The aluminium Superline Spool accommodates braided line, and Line Capacity Rings help you judge how much line remains. All versions come in black/red, with a handle that can be fitted on either side. They are supplied without line or a spare spool, so choose and spool your main line before fishing.
