The PENN Fathom Low Profile is a baitcasting reel family for saltwater fishing. A full metal body and metal crank-side plate support the brass main gear and bearing-supported bronze pinion when retrieving against resistance. The Dual Action Casting Brake controls the spool during casting, while the HT-100 star drag lets you adjust resistance during the fight.
All four versions have a 6+1 stainless steel bearing system, an aluminum spool and Instant Anti-Reverse to prevent backward handle rotation. The TiN-coated level wind guides line onto the spool and is designed for durability under high drag loads. On the 400 only, the drag and level wind are synchronized. This is the version to choose if you want that additional line-handling feature.
The assigned range includes 200 Left, 300 Left, 300 Right and 400 Left. Left and Right identify the handle side, so choose the version that matches your preferred winding hand.

The 400 offers more mono capacity at comparable diameters and synchronized drag and level wind, but weighs 133 g more than a 300. It retrieves the same 86 cm per turn despite its lower gear ratio, so compare actual line pickup as well as gearing. A larger size does not automatically mean a higher maximum drag.
