Both use a 7.0:1 ratio rather than 6.2:1. The 3000 HS retrieves 104 cm per turn instead of 89 cm and weighs 306 g instead of 286 g. The 4000 HS retrieves 112 cm instead of 89 cm and weighs 323 g instead of 301 g. Choose them for faster pickup, accepting the extra weight. Maximum drag stays at 6.8 kg.
The 2000 is the lightest at 235 g, with 4.5 kg maximum drag. The 2500 raises this to 5.4 kg at 249 g. The 5000 has the highest maximum drag at 9 kg but weighs 454 g. Compare these handling differences together with line capacity before choosing a size.
All seven versions have an aluminium spool and a right/left handle position, but are not pre-spooled and include no spare spool. Fit the handle on your preferred side and load your chosen line. A second preloaded spool is not part of the supplied equipment.

The PENN CLASH II is a saltwater spinning reel for inshore fishing with artificial lures. Its Leveline® Slow Oscillation System lays line evenly for repeated casting, while the HT-100™ carbon fibre front drag controls line release during the fight. The assigned range covers sizes 2000 to 5000, including two faster HS versions.
A full metal body and sideplate house CNC Gear™ technology. The 8+1 stainless steel bearing system provides nine bearings in total. The Hydrophobic Line Roller Bearing and Clutch Armor System protect critical components in changing weather without sacrificing weight. These are component-protection features, not a stated waterproof rating. Instant Anti-Reverse prevents the handle from turning backwards.
Every version has an aluminium spool and a handle that can be used on the right or left. The grey/black reels are supplied without line and without a spare spool, so choose and load your own line before fishing.

The 2000 is the lightest option and is explicitly described for hardbaits and softbaits in the sea. The 2500 adds line capacity, retrieve speed and drag capacity for active lure fishing, with only 14 g more weight. The 3000 offers 6.8 kg maximum drag and is also described for coalfish and cod. The 4000 increases line capacity over the 3000 at the same ratio, retrieve and maximum drag, with a 15 g weight increase. Its supplier also supports lure fishing in freshwater.
Choose 3000 HS or 4000 HS when faster line pickup matters for coastal lure fishing. Compared with their standard sizes, they retrieve 15 cm and 23 cm more per turn respectively, hold more braid at every listed rating and weigh 20 g and 22 g more. For monofilament, the 3000 HS holds more at 0.28 and 0.31 mm but less at 0.36 mm than the standard 3000, so check the diameter-specific capacity. Maximum drag remains 6.8 kg. The 5000 is intended for saltwater hardbait and softbait fishing and offers the highest drag capacity here. Its 454 g weight is the main handling trade-off, while its larger spool still retrieves 96 cm per turn despite the lower 5.6:1 ratio.
