The C2000A is the compact option at 169 g, with 5 kg maximum drag and 69 cm retrieve per turn. For more line capacity, the 199 g 2500A and 2500HA hold 165 m of 0.25 mm line and offer 8 kg maximum drag. The 2500HA picks up 88 cm per turn instead of 77 cm for faster line recovery.
The C5000XA retrieves 105 cm per turn and the 4000XA retrieves 99 cm, both with a 6.2:1 gear ratio and 11 kg maximum drag. Choose the C5000XA for its quoted 170 m capacity at 0.35 mm or the lighter 235 g 4000XA for 185 m at 0.30 mm. Compare the line diameter as well as capacity when selecting your setup.
Yes, the supplier specifies freshwater and saltwater use. The Hydro Block gasket keeps moisture away from the carbon fibre drag, but it does not remove the need for care. Clean the reel after saltwater use, store it dry and follow the manufacturer's maintenance instructions.
The C2000A, 2500A, 2500HA, 3000A, 3000HA, 4000A, 4000XA and C5000A are listed as LH, meaning left-hand retrieve. The C5000XA listing does not specify a side, and handle conversion is not confirmed. Check that model's retrieve hand before buying if the side is essential for your setup.
The 3000HA weighs 199 g, has 8 kg maximum drag and retrieves 88 cm per turn with a 200 m capacity at 0.25 mm. The 3000A weighs 235 g, has 11 kg maximum drag and retrieves 83 cm with 130 m capacity at 0.30 mm. Choose between lower weight and higher drag capacity according to your rod and line, not size alone.

The Okuma Zyros is an all-round spinning reel for freshwater and saltwater fishing. Its light, rigid C-40X carbon body, sideplates and rotor keep weight down for repeated casting. A superlight machined aluminium spool and A7075 spool shaft complete the lightweight construction. The family covers sizes 2000 to 5000, with different line capacities, drag ratings and retrieve speeds for choosing a reel to suit your setup.
The forged, machined aluminium drive gear forms the Flite Gear system. Flite Drive and the gearing stabilisation system improve gear stability and smoothness, helping maintain an even retrieve when working lures. Six grease-packed high-performance bearings plus one roller bearing support the smooth running. The multi-disc carbon fibre drag uses a Hydro Block gasket to keep moisture away from the drag system. This protection does not replace cleaning after saltwater use.
The machined aluminium screw-in handle has a TPE knob for a comfortable grip. Size 5000 models have a round knob. A heavy-duty, solid one-piece aluminium bail supports the line-handling assembly. The reel also includes CFR (Cyclonic Flow Rotor) technology and the EFR-II (Even Flow Roller) system with DLC coating.
The C2000A is the compact option for light perch and trout spinning with small softbaits, spoons or wobblers. The 2500A and 2500HA suit perch, trout and zander lure fishing. Both weigh 199 g and hold 165 m of 0.25 mm line, but the 2500HA retrieves 88 cm per turn instead of 77 cm. Choose it when faster line pickup matters.
The 3000HA keeps the same 199 g weight and 8 kg maximum drag as the 2500HA but holds 200 m of 0.25 mm line. The 3000A offers 11 kg maximum drag at 235 g and a capacity of 130 m of 0.30 mm line. These models cover perch, pike and zander spinning and jigging.
The 4000A and 4000XA also suit perch, pike and zander lure fishing. The 4000XA weighs 235 g and retrieves 99 cm per turn, compared with 248 g and 88 cm for the 4000A. Their quoted capacities use different line diameters, so compare diameter as well as length.
The C5000XA is the fast option for pike and zander spinning, jigging and occasional trolling with wobblers. Its 105 cm retrieve is the longest in this family. The C5000A has the same quoted line capacity, but the non-fallback supplier specifies a lower weight, lower maximum drag and shorter retrieve. Choose by those individual specifications rather than assuming that all 5000 models share the same performance.
Model | Weight | Maximum drag | Gear ratio | Retrieve per turn | Line capacity |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
C2000A | 169 g | 5 kg | 5.2:1 | 69 cm | 0.25 mm / 140 m |
2500A | 199 g | 8 kg | 5.3:1 | 77 cm | 0.25 mm / 165 m |
2500HA | 199 g | 8 kg | 6.0:1 | 88 cm | 0.25 mm / 165 m |
3000A | 235 g | 11 kg | Not specified here | 83 cm | 0.30 mm / 130 m |
3000HA | 199 g | 8 kg | 6.0:1 | 88 cm | 0.25 mm / 200 m |

4000XA | 235 g | 11 kg | 6.2:1 | 99 cm | 0.30 mm / 185 m |
C5000A | 169 g | 5 kg | Not specified here | 79 cm | 0.35 mm / 170 m |
C5000XA | 248 g | 11 kg | 6.2:1 | 105 cm | 0.35 mm / 170 m |
The supplier gives conflicting gear ratios for 3000A and C5000A, so no ratio is stated here for those models. Models listed as LH (left-hand retrieve) are for winding with the left hand. The C5000XA listing does not specify retrieve hand. The quoted capacities describe a particular line diameter, not a maximum permitted diameter. Match the reel, rod, line and technique before use.
The supplier recommends light to medium spinning rods around 2–20 g casting weight for the C2000A, 5–25 g for the 2500 models and 10–40 g for the 3000A. Suggested rod lengths are 2.10–2.70 m for the 2500A and 3000A. For the 4000XA, the recommendation is 2.40–3.00 m with 15–60 g casting weight. The C5000XA is paired with medium to heavy rods around 20–80 g and lengths from 2.40 m, while the C5000A is paired with medium to heavy rods of 2.40–3.00 m. These are setup suggestions, not the reel's own casting-weight limits. The 4000A is also described for drop-shot rigs on perch. Occasional wobblers trolled from a boat are a stated use for the 3000A, 4000XA and C5000XA, without making them dedicated trolling reels.
Check the drag, handle, spool and line guide before each outing, and secure the reel firmly to the rod. Clean it regularly, particularly after saltwater use, with a soft cloth and suitable reel oil where required. Follow the manufacturer's maintenance instructions and have faulty reels repaired by a specialist. Store the reel dry and remove the line during prolonged storage. Keep moving parts and line away from fingers, hair and clothing, and supervise children when they use the reel.
