The RA-6000 weighs 486 g, has 12 kg maximum drag and retrieves 104 cm per turn. The RA-8000 weighs 531 g, has 16 kg maximum drag and retrieves 123 cm per turn. At 0.33 mm, capacity rises from 300 m to 440 m. Choose the RA-8000 for the larger line reserve and faster line recovery, or the RA-6000 for lower weight when its capacity is sufficient.
Yes. Both have corrosion-resistant graphite bodies, sideplates and rotors, plus stainless steel bearings, and are described for sea fishing. The RA-8000 is specified for surf and coastal use, while the RA-6000 is also described for shore and boat fishing. Clean them regularly after saltwater use and store them dry. The evidence does not establish a waterproof rating.
The RA-6000 holds 370 m at 0.30 mm, 300 m at 0.33 mm or 270 m at 0.35 mm. The RA-8000 holds 440 m at 0.33 mm, 385 m at 0.35 mm or 320 m at 0.38 mm. Compare capacity at the diameter you intend to use rather than comparing reel size alone. No separate braid capacity table is supplied.
The supplier limits the baitfeeding system and five-ball-bearing configuration to RBF models. These RA variants are specified with four ball bearings and one roller bearing, so do not choose them on the assumption that they have baitfeeding. Quantity is one reel, and the listed spool references do not establish that a spare spool is included.

The Okuma Rockaway family comprises fixed-spool sea fishing reels with a long-cast, two-tone anodized aluminium spool for distance casting. Both versions have corrosion-resistant graphite bodies, sideplates and rotors for saltwater use. The RA-8000 is intended for surf and coastal fishing from beaches, piers and rocks, including cod, sea bass, flatfish and coastal eel fishing. The RA-6000 is also described for spinning and saltwater fishing from shore or a boat.
Both reels have a 5.3:1 gear ratio, but their line capacity, retrieve and maximum drag differ.
RA-6000: 486 g, 12 kg maximum drag and 104 cm of line retrieved per handle turn. Capacity is 370 m of 0.30 mm line, 300 m of 0.33 mm or 270 m of 0.35 mm. It is the lighter choice when the smaller line reserve is sufficient, with front drag and a compact body.
RA-8000: 531 g, 16 kg maximum drag and 123 cm of line retrieved per handle turn. Capacity is 440 m of 0.33 mm line, 385 m of 0.35 mm or 320 m of 0.38 mm. Choose it for a larger line reserve and more line recovered with each turn during beach and surf fishing. The trade-off is 45 g more weight. At 0.33 mm, it holds 140 m more line than the RA-6000.
Both versions use four stainless steel ball bearings and one roller bearing. The Quick-Set anti-reverse roller bearing prevents backward handle rotation, while the precision-machined brass pinion gear transmits drive to the reel. A rigid metal handle reduces flex under load. Corrosion-resistant construction supports sea use, but does not remove the need for cleaning and maintenance.
The RA-6000 has a machined aluminium spool with a 30 mm long spool stroke and worm-shaft oscillation for line lay. A round metal line clip provides a line-retention point, and its round EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate) handle knob provides the hand contact surface. It has a CFR cyclone rotor and RESII, a computer-balanced rotor system. The supplier also lists solid aluminium bail wire and a smooth-running line roller. These additional details are specified for the RA-6000, not established for the RA-8000.
Match the reel to your rod, line and fishing method, and secure it firmly in the reel seat before use. For the RA-8000, the supplier recommends heavy surf rods from 4 m with a casting weight rating of at least 100 g and a reel seat for fixed-spool reels. Its listed capacities refer to monofilament line. The baitfeeding system and five-ball-bearing configuration mentioned for RBF models are not specifications of these RA variants. Each variant is supplied as one reel. Spool references are RA-6000-SPOOL and RA-8000-SPOOL respectively, not evidence of an included spare spool.
Check the drag, handle, spool and line guide before each trip. Clean the reel regularly, especially after saltwater use, with a soft cloth and suitable reel oil where needed. Follow the manufacturer's maintenance instructions and store the reel dry. If storing it for a long period, remove the line as instructed by the supplier. Do not use damaged equipment or modify the reel. Keep fingers, hair and clothing clear of moving parts, avoid excessive line tension, and keep small parts away from children and pets. Children should use reels only under adult supervision.
