The 2000A is the lightest version at 168 g, with 3 kg maximum drag and 60 cm retrieve, and is described for perch and trout spinning with small wobblers, spinners and light jigging. The 3000A weighs 188 g and adds 5 kg maximum drag and 71 cm retrieve for light to medium freshwater setups, including perch, pike and trout.
The 4000A weighs 232 g, offers 6 kg maximum drag and retrieves 79 cm per turn for freshwater predator lure fishing. The 6000A and 8000A both offer 9 kg maximum drag at 338 g and 340 g, with 83 cm and 88 cm retrieves. Choose between the larger versions by line requirements and retrieve, since the 8000A adds no maximum drag over the 6000A.
Always compare both diameter and length. Capacities are 0.20 mm / 210 m for 2000A, 0.25 mm / 200 m for 3000A, 0.30 mm / 180 m for 4000A, 0.35 mm / 220 m for 6000A and 0.45 mm / 170 m for 8000A. A shorter stated length at a thicker diameter does not mean less capacity at the same diameter. For braid on the 2000A or 3000A, the supplier recommends monofilament backing.
No sea-fishing suitability is stated. The Revenger A is described for freshwater use, with corrosion-resistant components to help protect it in wet conditions. Choose it for that stated use rather than treating corrosion resistance as a saltwater rating, and clean, dry and maintain it according to the manufacturer's instructions.
All five versions use RESII rotor balancing for stable retrieves and a multi-disc oiled felt drag for smooth resistance when a fish takes line. Multi-stop anti-reverse prevents unwanted backward handle rotation. These shared features remain the same across sizes, so select the version by its weight, line capacity, retrieve and maximum drag.

The Okuma Revenger A is a black spinning reel for entry-level freshwater fishing. Its compact graphite construction keeps weight down, while RESII rotor balancing provides a stable retrieve when working lures. The family spans five sizes, from the 168 g 2000A to the 340 g 8000A, with different line capacities, maximum drag ratings and retrieves.
The multi-disc oiled felt drag system gives smooth resistance when a fish takes line. Maximum drag ranges from 3 to 9 kg, so choose the version around your intended setup rather than reel size alone. Multi-stop anti-reverse prevents unwanted backward handle rotation. Each version has one ball bearing.
The body, rotor, handle and spool are graphite. This lightweight construction matters when holding the rod and repeatedly casting. Corrosion-resistant components help protect the reel in wet conditions, but the stated intended use remains freshwater fishing.
Model | Size | Weight | Gear ratio | Retrieve per handle turn | Maximum drag | Line capacity, diameter / length |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
2000A | 2000 | 168 g | 4.8:1 | 60 cm | 3 kg | 0.20 mm / 210 m |
3000A | 3000 | 188 g | 5.0:1 | 71 cm | 5 kg | 0.25 mm / 200 m |
4000A | 4000 | 232 g | 5.0:1 | 79 cm | 6 kg | 0.30 mm / 180 m |
6000A | 6000 | 338 g | 4.4:1 | 83 cm | 9 kg | 0.35 mm / 220 m |
8000A | 8000 | 340 g | 4.4:1 | 88 cm | 9 kg | 0.45 mm / 170 m |
The 2000A is the lightest option for light to medium freshwater lure setups, including perch and trout spinning, light jigging, small wobblers and spinners. The supplier pairs it with light to medium rods from 1.80 to 2.70 m. The 3000A adds drag capacity and line retrieve for perch, pike and trout spinning or light jigging, at 20 g more weight.
The 4000A is described for perch, zander and smaller pike with artificial lures, including river spinning and lake trolling. It retrieves more line than the 3000A at the same gear ratio, but weighs 44 g more. The 6000A is described for casting and trolling in freshwater, including pike, zander and carp use with medium-weight rods. Its 9 kg drag and 0.35 mm / 220 m capacity come with a higher weight of 338 g.
The 8000A is described for medium-weight freshwater lures and for pike, zander and carp use. It has the same 9 kg maximum drag as the 6000A, but retrieves 5 cm more per turn and weighs only 2 g more. Its capacity is specified at a thicker line diameter, not at the same diameter as the 6000A, so the two metre ratings are not a direct capacity comparison.
Check reel, rod, line and fishing-method compatibility before use. The quoted capacities describe line length at the stated diameter. The supplier recommends monofilament backing when using braid on the 2000A or 3000A and a suitable leader with braid on the 6000A.
Secure the reel firmly to the rod and check the drag, handle, spool and line guide before each outing. Wipe the reel clean, dry it after use and follow the manufacturer's maintenance instructions, using suitable reel oil where required. Store it in a dry place and do not use a damaged reel. Children should use it only under adult supervision.
