Choose the CJ-5000H HS for the lightest option at 397 g, specified for light pirking and jigging. The 405 g CJ-6000H HS adds capacity and a 101 cm retrieve for sea spinning. Sizes 8000–14000 offer 20 kg rather than 15 kg maximum drag and more line capacity, but weigh 624–646 g. The CJ-8000, CJ-10000 and CJ-14000 have manual bail closure and dual anti-reverse, so close the bail by hand before retrieving. The CJ-5000H HS and CJ-6000H HS have automatic bail closure. All sizes have a Quick-Set anti-reverse roller bearing.
The reels are designed for saltwater, but still need regular cleaning and maintenance. CRC coating, corrosion-resistant HDGII gearing and stainless steel bearings provide corrosion resistance, not freedom from care. The 5000–10000 models also specify a Hydro Block drag seal, which does not make the whole reel waterproof. Clean after saltwater use, follow the manufacturer's maintenance instructions and store the reel dry.

The Okuma CEDROS sea fishing reels are fixed-spool spinning reels designed for saltwater jigging. Their Dual Force Drag (DFD) system provides maximum drag of 15 kg in the CJ-5000H HS and CJ-6000H HS, or 20 kg in the CJ-8000, CJ-10000 and CJ-14000. Multi-disc drag adjustment allows precise settings when playing fish. Intended uses include spinning and pirking for cod, with the CJ-10000 also specified for speed jigging and coalfish from a charter boat or small boat.

The Litecast Blade design uses Litecast for the body, sideplates and rotor. The LITECAST body construction has a stated 15% weight reduction. A corrosion-resistant coating process (CRC), corrosion-resistant High Density Gearing (HDGII), and six high-performance bearings plus one roller bearing in corrosion-resistant stainless steel address saltwater exposure. The drive train includes a precision-machined brass pinion gear. The machined aluminium spool is two-tone anodized, and the machined aluminium handle arm screws into place.
All sizes have a Quick-Set anti-reverse roller bearing. The CJ-8000, CJ-10000 and CJ-14000 also have dual anti-reverse and a manual bail trip, so the bail must be closed by hand. The CJ-5000H HS and CJ-6000H HS have automatic bail closure. All five sizes include a rotor brake.
The CJ-5000H HS, CJ-6000H HS, CJ-8000 and CJ-10000 have a round EVA handle knob for gripping the handle, a heavy-duty solid aluminium bail and an oversized Even Flow line roller. Their two-tone spool has an LCS casting lip. These four models also feature an oversized zinc drive gear with a large module, a double-ball-bearing-supported pinion, and a watertight Hydro Block drag with Carbonite and felt discs. The drag seal does not establish that the entire reel is waterproof.
Check the drag, handle, spool and line guide before every trip and ensure the reel is securely attached to the rod. Clean it regularly, especially after saltwater use, with a soft cloth and suitable reel oil if needed. Follow the manufacturer's maintenance instructions, do not use damaged equipment, and store the reel dry. Remove the line before prolonged storage to protect it and relieve the spool. Keep moving parts clear of fingers, hair and clothing, and supervise children using the reel.
