The third-generation Madcat White Deluxe is built around a semi-parabolic 30TC nano-carbon blank, giving the reach and backbone to work vertical presentations or stalk drifting swims on rivers like the Rhine, Rhone and Po. It is a practical, long-bodied catfish (Wels) tool that trades hype for proven European river-fishing capability.

Blank and action

The 30TC nano-carbon blank is semi-parabolic: it bends into the mid-section under load so a big fish can be steered in heavy current without overpowering the angler. The same blank architecture runs across both lengths in the series, so feel and recovery stay consistent whichever model you pick up.

Components and build

Every blank is dressed end-to-end with SeaGuide hardware. The original SeaGuide XR guide train keeps weight low along the blank, and the SeaGuide PBDBS reel seat locks big reels in place during prolonged fights. An EVA fight grip and shrink-tube EVA handle give a secure hold when a 2m+ catfish takes over.

With a 150–350 g casting weight and a two-piece transport build, the White Deluxe suits vertical catfish work, drifting live or dead baits, and static fishing with heavy leads. Choose the shorter 2.75 m option for tight boat handling and vertical angling; reach for the 3.20 m model when you need extra line lift for bank fishing or positioning baits in stronger current.
