Pass the small assist hook through the baitfish's snout. It holds the bait while leaving the main hook fully exposed, rather than burying the main hook in the bait, to improve the chance of hooking a catfish.
The 8/0 is the larger hook, with a listed tackle weight of 50 g compared with 40 g for 6/0. Both have the same gripper arrangement and coating and contain five hooks. Choose the hook size required by your bait rig, as no baitfish length ranges are specified.
The green anti-static rubber coating is designed to minimise the electric field that can spook catfish. It can wear off during fishing, so do not expect the coating to remain intact indefinitely.
No, each pack contains five hooks in the selected size for tying your own freshwater catfish deadbait rigs. These are rig components, not complete pre-tied rigs.

The Madcat A-Static Deadbait Gripper Hook is designed for tying deadbait rigs for freshwater catfish fishing. A small assist hook passes through the dead baitfish's snout to hold the bait, leaving the main hook fully exposed for a better chance of hooking the fish.
Made from high-quality Japanese steel, these strong, ultra-sharp hooks combine bait retention with an unobstructed main hook. The green A-Static rubber coating is designed to minimise the electric field that can spook catfish. The coating can wear off during use, so it is not a permanent finish.
Both sizes use the same gripper arrangement and come in packs of five hooks. Choose 6/0 for the smaller hook option or 8/0 when your bait rig requires a larger hook. The supplier lists a tackle weight of 40 g for 6/0 and 50 g for 8/0. No specific baitfish lengths are given for either size.
