The mainline is 0.27 mm at 10 lb, 0.30 mm at 12 lb or 0.33 mm at 15 lb. Each tapers to the same 0.47 mm, 30 lb ends and supplies 300 m. Choose between a thinner mainline and greater mainline strength, while the reinforced-end construction remains the same.
Yes. Each end has 8 m of 0.47 mm line to take the force of the cast, followed by a 2 m taper into the mainline. This provides the reinforced casting section without a joining knot. It does not mean the entire line has the 30 lb strength of its thick ends, the mainline rating depends on the version.
The transition needs no leader knot for weed to gather around. This avoids that particular source of problems near the rod tip when fishing weedy carp spots. The benefit is the absence of a collecting point at the knot, not a claim that the line cannot pick up weed.
Yes. Both ends have the same 8 m reinforced section and 2 m taper. The supplier describes reversing the line on the spool after a break-off to use the other end, rather than losing access to the tapered construction.

Korda Long Chuck Tapered Mainline is a transparent monofilament carp line for static fishing and distance casting without a separate leader knot. Its thicker end sections take the force of the cast and provide abrasion resistance when fishing on the bottom. The knot-free transition is particularly useful around weed, where a leader knot can collect vegetation and cause problems near the rod tip.
At each end, an 8 m section of 0.47 mm line is followed by a 2 m taper down to the chosen mainline diameter. Both ends have the same construction. After a break-off, the line can be reversed on the spool so the other tapered end can be used.
The three supplier-rated versions are 0.27-0.47mm / 10-30lb, 0.30-0.47mm / 12-30lb and 0.33-0.47mm / 15-30lb. Their mainline strengths are approximately 4.54 kg, 5.44 kg and 6.80 kg respectively, with the same approximately 13.61 kg rating at the thick end.
Choose the 0.27 mm version for the thinnest mainline in the range, the 0.30 mm version for the intermediate diameter and strength, or the 0.33 mm version for the highest mainline strength offered here. The trade-off is increasing mainline diameter as strength increases. All three retain the same 0.47 mm end sections and tapered construction for distance casting.
Every version has low stretch, low water absorption and high abrasion resistance. The abrasion-resistant end sections are intended to withstand contact with the bottom. Each selected variant supplies 300 m of transparent monofilament line, so diameter and mainline strength, rather than length or colour, determine the choice.
