Korda Kamakura Wide Gape Barbless hooks are designed for carp fishing. The Kamakura sharpening process produces a point comparable to a hand-sharpened hook, saving you the work of sharpening it yourself. Compared with the classic Wide Gape pattern, this version has a much sharper, finer point.
All sizes are barbless and have a slightly in-turned eye, a short shank, a strongly forged bend and a beaked point. The same construction is used across the family, so the choice between variants is hook size, not a different pattern or barb type.
Each point is protected by a dab of wax. Carefully remove it before use. The fine points are delicate, and the supplier advises that you will probably need to replace the hook after each fish caught. This is the handling trade-off for the finer, sharper point. The supplied box holds every hook securely in its own position for storage and transport.
