They are suitable for hair rigs and particularly for Chod Rigs and Stiff Rigs. The 25° angled eye keeps even stiff hooklink material along the shank, while the sharp, slightly inward-curved point supports self-hooking presentations. They are loose hooks for building rigs, not ready-tied rigs.
No, the supplier states that a line aligner can be omitted with this hook. Its 25° angled eye keeps stiff hooklink material along the shank, so the described carp rigs can be built without adding a line aligner.
Each pack contains 10 hooks in #4, #6 or #8, according to your selection. #4 is the largest option, #6 is intermediate and #8 is the smallest. The variants share the stated rig compatibility, so choose the size for your presentation rather than expecting a different hook design.

The Gamakatsu Wide Gape Super Hook is an eyed single carp hook for hair rigs, particularly Chod Rigs and Stiff Rigs. Its 25° angled eye keeps even a stiff hooklink lying along the shank. Together with the very sharp, slightly inward-curved point, this supports the hooking action of self-hooking rigs.
A line aligner is not required with this hook, so you can build the supported carp presentations without that extra component. The supplier describes a broad range of uses with different carp methods and baits across different carp waters, with particular suitability for Chod Rigs and Stiff Rigs.
Choose from #4, #6 and #8. In conventional hook sizing, #4 is the largest of these options, #6 is intermediate and #8 is the smallest. Size is the stated difference between the variants, so select the hook size to suit your chosen presentation. Each pack contains 10 carp hooks in the selected size, not a complete rig.
