They were developed for carp, and the supplier also names tench, bream and roach. The large gape, sharp point and barb support secure hook holds, so this range also covers those named coarse fish rather than carp alone.
No. They have a flattened, forged spade end instead of an eye. Attach the line with a spade-end knot rather than a knot that requires threading the line through an eye.
Choose from #10, #12, #14 and #16, with #10 the largest and #16 the smallest. Each pack contains 15 hooks of one selected size in NS Black, so choose the size for your bait and presentation rather than expecting a mixed pack.
No. The supplier explicitly describes a barb, which helps retain the fish after hooking. These are therefore not a barbless option, so check whether barbed hooks are permitted at your fishery.

Gamakatsu Power Carp Hooks are single hooks developed for carp fishing, with a large gape to help hook fish after they take the bait. The sharp point and barb help establish and maintain the hook hold. The supplier also lists tench, bream and roach as target species.
Each hook has a flattened, forged end instead of an eye. Use a spade-end knot to attach the line rather than threading it through an eye. All versions are supplied in NS Black.
The family offers sizes #10, #12, #14 and #16. In this numbering system, #10 is the largest and #16 the smallest, with #12 and #14 between them. Choose the hook size to suit your bait and presentation. No specific bait-to-size pairing is stated by the supplier. The spade end, large gape, sharp point and barb are shared across the range.
Each pack contains 15 hooks in the selected size, not a mixed-size assortment. These hooks are barbed, so check your fishery's rules if barbless hooks are required.
